Meet The Team


Justin Lowe
Founder and Head Chef

Founder and Head Chef Justin Lowe has been in the catering industry for over 25 years. His career started at the London Hilton Park Lane hotel and continued on the QE2 where he was one of the youngest commis chefs to be hired and soon became a Chef de Partie. Since then Justin has worked continuously both in the UK and abroad to enrich his palate and build up a fantastic array of skills, knowledge and experience.

His methodology is to meet personally with clients, to build up a relationship and ensure he captures their wishes and transfers this to the menu and ultimately the dish.

Justin chose to settle in West Sussex where his wife is from and they enjoy the abundance of Sussex farmers and food producers who create a buzzing local market place.

Caroline Laughton
Operations Director

Operations Director, Caroline Laughton, joined forces with Justin after they worked together on three events and realised they shared the same goals to provide an outstanding service. Caroline’s experience in Event Management and Administration gained in London, in both corporate and private environments, provide the backbone to enable The Gourmet Chef to manage events as well as provide the catering.

Caroline and her husband moved to West Sussex six years ago when they built their house. When not running the office, Caroline is kept busy with her young family, 3 alpacas and 2 cats.
